Question: I have a 2 server setup running DNS DHCP as a PDC on one and a database server on the other. On the Domain Controller i am running apache with a public IP. Extranet.mobileaccord.com is pointing to my public IP and resolving to my PDC. I have developers on the private network trying to go to extranet.mobileaccord.com but they cant, they have to type the private network address. When they ping the public IP it resolves to the private IP. What do I have to do to get these developers access to extranet.mobileaccord.com from the internal network?
Answer: You will have to create a new zone called mobileaccord.com. Then create the host records in that zone to point to the internal IP address instead of the outside one. You will also have to recreate any other records like mail or ftp.mobileaccord.com and point them apropriately |
