Question: Hello,
I am currently the IT person for our office. We are on win 2K server with 14 workstations all running 2000 pro.
Recently, I had to reload win 2k on two of our computers. They are in the same place and have been reloaded with the exact same computer and user names and passwords.
My problem is that the two recently reloaded systems have started a workgroup for only the two of them. I have not been able to get them on our domain. The error messages vary but usually say something like the domain cannot be located. We can connect to them and they to us but just not under the same domain. Do you have any idea where I would look to find the problem? I truly appreciate your time in answering this question.

Answer: Make sure the new workstations are using the Windwos 2000 server for DNS. They probably can't resolve the domain to the server. It sounds like a name resolution problem to me. |
