|
Question: I've installed 40 Computers with win XP and SP2 in a computer lab at school. Old units had Win 2000 as operating systems.
Problem: At random the computers give message that the domain is not available. Local Admin login ping server 2000 OK as well as other computers on the network. Therefore not a cable problem. Solution so far is to join workgroup, and rejoin the Domain.
Please help!

Answer: Sorry for the slow response. It's been a busy week. My guess is that it's a DNS problem. Make sure that the workstations point to the server for DNS. Otherwise the workstations will have to use netbios broadcasts for name resolution and that works terribly. Let me know how that works. |
