Question: dear sir,
how can i configure a dhcp server on a windows network so it offers ip adresses to workstations that log on to the net work?
joseph.
Answer: That depends on the operating system of your dhcp server. If you only have workstation you can use Internet connection sharing and it will automaticaly setup a DHCP server. The down side of this is you have no control over that DHCP server. If you install DHCP on a server operating system like 2000 server you will have to authorize it before in active directory before it will hand out addresses. You can do that from the dhcp console.
