Question: I wanted to clean up my favorites and delete some places I don't visit on a regular basis and ran into the following problem. When I left click on one and select delete I get the usual message that asks if I want to send it to the recycle bin I click yes but it does not go away instead I get a message CANNOT DELETE FILE CANNOT READ FROM THE SOURCE FILE OR DISK how do I get these places deleted. I am using windows xp

Answer: It sounds like you lost permission to part of your profile. Go to start , run and type chkdsk c: /r
See if that helps. |
