Question: i have a question about a cluster server;

i want to start a game-server for the game lineage 2, a mmorpg. I already have a lineage 2 server running on 1 pc, But i want to make a cluster server from it so i can have more users on it.
You can devide the lineage server into these folowing "packets"

-Mysql database
-Webserver( i want to host lineage and make a webserver in the future)
-A install with game files, and a .exe witch starts the server.

Now my real question : Can i make a cluster server to get more users? and how can i do that? If you have some howto's for me, i would be verry glad to read them.

thanks for all the help and even reading this message,

a freind from holland,

Answer: The application that you are using must support clustering. MS SQL for example does. You also need expensive hardware. You'll need HBA cards for each server and a SAN to store the data. The setup is not hard though. You create your first server and load clustering service. Then store the SQL data on the SAN. Then load the second server. The two (or three or 4 etc) servers coordinate who is in control of the data by a special share called the quarum. This site should help you understand the basics.rel="nofollow"www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Cluster-Quorums.html
