Question: Hi! I have a WinXP desktop connected to a D-Link wireless router. I also have a WinXP laptop and a Win2k laptop, both with wireless cards of course.
All 3 PCs have no problem connecting to the internet via the router. I had setup shared resources on the desktop, including the printer, to be seen by my WinXP laptop. This *used* to work just fine. Suddenly, I can no longer connect to the network drive, i.e. I can no longer see the shared resources as I used to. Resetting the router and ipconfig release/renew made no difference. I don't know what to try next.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Al
Answer: If this just happened it might be SP2. If you recently installed SP2 on the machine with the printer it would automatically turn on the firewall. This would block you from connecting to it. Turn off the firewall and test the printer. This link should tell you how. rel="nofollow"www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/learnmore/icf.mspx |
