|
Question: Hello. Firstly thanks for taking the time out to read this. I'm not very wise when it comes to computers. I have Windows Me right now, but I would like to upgrade it to Windows XP. My question to you is it something I can do myself, or should I take it into a computer support and repair shop and have them do it? Can I buy windows xp, and will I be able to install it myself even though I'm computer illiterate? Do you have any directions to sort of guide me through the process? Thank a lot.
Answer: XP upgrades never seem to go well even for the professionals. Unless there is a pressing reason I would leave ME alone and just buy a new computer at a later date that has XP already on it. ME does suck but I still think you should hold out. XP costs $150 and a tech will charge about $75 per hour and might take 2-3 hours to do the upgrade. It will probably be cheaper to get a new PC. That is just my 2 cents. |
