Question: I am currently setting up a windows 2003 server. Is there any way in which i can make the users local admins on their pc's but obviously not on the domain. The reason being that all users need to be able to edit a database that is stored in c:program files
thanks
Answer: You can add the "domain users" domain group to the administrators local group of each workstation. That will let any user have full local permissions on each workstation without letting them access the server at admin levels. You can use the "Computer Management" utility and connect to remote computers to do this. Unfortunately that means editing each computer manually. I can't think of a way to script it off the top of my head but I am sure there is a way. |
