|
Question: Hi Andrew,
Glad to find an expert like you here to ask my questions: I am ghosting my hard drive to an image file on a network computer. And I have a problem to correctly configure my NDIS2 driver parameters.
I downloaded the NDIS2 driver for my Intel (R)Pro/100 network adapter on my Toshiba Portege M205. The configuration in protocol.ini is like below:
DRIVERNAME = E100B$
SPEED = 100
; 0 = Auto (default) 10|100
FORCEDUPLEX = 2
; 0 = Auto (default); 1 = Half; 2 = Full
SLOT = 0x38
NODE = "000D566170C6"
TRANSMITBUFFERS = 20 ; range 3 - 30
RECEIVEBUFFERS = 20 ; range 3 - 30
CACHEFLUSH = 0
NOWARMBOOTHOOK = 0
I have no idea how to determine SLOT value, and I am pretty sure all the other parmaters are correct. Can you tell me how to find the SLOT parameter on my laptop?
Thanks in advance.
Answer: If I remember my Dos correctly I believe the NDIS driver is a .com file. Try running it by itself. It may give you options as to what the slot is. I haven't used a dos boot disk to get to the network in a year so I am a little rusty. Try that and I will see if I can find the disk I used. Let me know if that doesn't work |
