Question: I just got the self install from sbc for dsl--I am a dummy at this--the cord that goes from the dsl modem to the phone jack is not long enough --can I use a regular phone extension to bring the jack closer?--thanks for ANY help with this hookup--been dialup since I've started--windows xp
Answer: The phone looking cables are actual phone cables. You can use anything that would work with a regular phone. I will also give you a few good hits for newbies:
*Install the filter on the other phones NOT the DSL modem.
*The phone cables that have the bigger connecter are called cat 5 cables. They can be bought at bestbuy and can be up to 328 feet long. |
