Question: Someone advised that I won't need a router. I have one computer using (56 k. dial-up), and rather than using a cable to the telephone wall outlet, I would like to have a wireless connection. Please advise what equipment I should purchase. I know that I need a Card Bus adapter to insert in the PCMCIA slot of the computer. Is a wireless access point necessary as well?
Answer: So then you want to use a wireless connection to connect to the phone line so you can dial out? I don't know of any solution for that. All the wireless out there carries ethernet network signals not the analog phone signal. If you have only 1 computer and you want the modem to work like a cordless phone then you need this product: rel="nofollow"www.socketcom.com/product/CM7100-510.asp |
