Question: Hi there,
I just purchased a laptop and would like to transfer all my files from my desktop to the new computer.
I don't have a router or hub but was wondering if there is a way to connect my laptop to the pc through the network cable direct, ie set up a peer to peer network.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Ronan
Answer: All you need is a crossover cable. Just plug each end into a computer. Then make sure you have IPX on both, or netbueii on both. You could use TCPIP but then you need to pick an IP address. Then the machines should show up in network neighborhood. Go here to buy a cross over cable.
