Question: greetings from australia,
where i'm struggling to get my old win95-driven machine sorted out. i downloaded Spybot and Free Download Manager which both tell me they won't work because the file WS2_32DLL is missing.
i don't have the installation disc, but i've searched the hard drive and also a win98 installation disc's system files and can't find it. i even tried microsoft's web site but gave up in frustration -- i'm no expert and this has now consumed a week of my time. can you tell me where and how to get this file before i jump off a cliff?

Answer: Yeah Windows 95 can be frustrating. I used to format my 95 macihne about every 6 months. It seems to need a reload like a car needs an oil change. Also make sure you have Widows 95 b or c and not A. A was a worthless pile of crap. I would rather load Windows 3.1 than run 95 A. A was mostly 16 bit. |
