|
This is not a question but just something wierd that happened to me. I had a server that was out of ram. It looked like a ram leak. NTFRS.exe was using about 50MB then it spiked to 300MB. Now I was using almost 1GB more ram than usual but I figured I would start with the 300MB problem. It turns out that under ntdsutil.exe I had a ghost domain controller. I killed an old server months ago. I also had all kinds of file replication errors. I used ntdsutil to remove the old server and stopped the nt file replication service. It wouldn't stop until I started the service on one of my other domain controllers. It had stopped there. It stopped on the other server right after I started it but by then the service on the first one had also stopped and my ram utilization dropped by over 1GB. Once I removed the ghost I restarted ntfrs on both servers and they are fine. I wanted to post that here because when I googled the ntfrs file I found nothing. Hopefully this will help someone else. |
