Guys,
i have tried most of the things like my n/w places-properties-configure--power management-& UNCHECKED allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. but still i have noticed that if the workstation is left ideal for over a certain period of time i lose connectivity with all network resources & everytime i need to restart the pc.
this happens only with the pcs having winxp pro with sp2. all other machines running on win2k pro work perfectly fine.
is this a known issue or is there a way to resolve this, cos the users r kind of getting irritated with this.
please advice.
cheers, phil

It's probably not the NIC setting it is probably under the screen saver settings. Right click the desktop and go to properties. Then choose screen saver and power. My guess is that stand by is on.
Answer: Hmmm......, Well have you tried a new NIC? that is about the only other idea I can think of. Except it might be a BIOS setting. I had a comcrap, I mean compaq, that did something like this. I couldn't fix it without the smartstart CD. You might try that approach. |
