In general I have found that the practice tests are pretty close. I got my mcp in server and pro 2000 about four years ago and my mcse in NT 4 back in 99. One of the tricks I have used is to read the answers before the question. Microsoft test seem to spend more time testing your reading comprehension skills than your technical skills. Reading the questions helps give you a hint on what to look for in the questio. There is often a lot of useless information to filter out and alot of questions have answers like: a. the solution solve the required result and one optional result, b. the solution solves the required result and 2 optional results or c. The solution doesn't solve anything. As far the specific practice test you asked about I am not quite sure what they are asking either. I'll address that one in the next post in a few minutes. |

Ok I figured out what they want.
1. The app1 shortcut is there for all users [b:774ef6801d]on the all_users computer[/b:774ef6801d]
2. A user can delete the shortcut without removing it for the other users
3. This shortcut [b:774ef6801d]is not [/b:774ef6801d]on any other computers.
Since they said that the profiles are stored on the server we know that they are using roaming profiles. If you create the short cut on each user profile you fix requirement 1 but violate requirement 3. If you put the shortcut in the default users profile you also fix 1 and break 3. You need to add it to the default users profile on the local machine, not the server, and delete the local profile.
They are testing you on the difference between the default user profile and all user profile. They are also testing you on the difference between the local and roaming profiles and the interaction between them. I don't see the correct answer in the choices but I noted that a and b are the same so there might be a typo. |
