I read the thread and I can't think of why the shutdown tool wouldn't work. I don't like to leave my users stumped but I don't have many ideas either. I did search microsofts web site for shutdown.exe and I see there are a few hotfixes to solve specific shutdown problems. Try running windows update on the effected machine. It's a long shot but it's good to do anyway. Also does the command work if you run it from the machine you are trying to shutdown instead of from remote? |

Maybe it's the nic driver. It's possible that the hardware is slightly different than the original machine. 3coms do that. Try the latest driver. I know it's a long shot but hey we've tried everything else. |
