Question: Hi,
I got a computer that was from my friends job. It has a WIN98 and it was networked. I works fine, however when I turn it on, it shows me the network log in screen. If I cancel I still can get into the win98, but my cd-rom and diskete drive do not work. The diskete drive says it's networked, and the cd-rom drive looks like it been disable because I see in the begenning a screen saying REM[CD-ROM Drive]and a bunch of stuff more with the REM command.
I need to know how can I get my cd-rom to work and my floppy also. I thought installing 98 again, but since I cannot use cd-rom and diskette, which option I have if I do not know computer programming?.
Thanks a lot.
Rafael
Answer: Sorry my response was so late. Anyway I have seen this issue once before. It was a virus in my case. Try booting off the CD and see if it starts to load. If it has Novell's network client on it download the client from novell and run the uninstall utility. Removing it from network neighborhood breaks things. Use Novell's uninstall utility.
